The hotel offers buffets that are to die for at very reasonable prices, but the rooms are in need of a serious upgrade and badly maintained. Despite the room quality, the polite and attentive service made our stay more comfortable.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. While the rooms weren't as clean as I expected, they did offer a truly amazing view overlooking the sea. The excellent breakfast provided everything I could want, and it was convenient to have the restaurant accessible from the pool area to our room.

However, the service for amenities like towel replacement lacks hospitality. Needs a major refurb for its location and age.

The staff at the Governors restaurant, especially Mr Nilantha and his team, provided exceptional service that made me feel like part of their family. I was blown away by the direct view of the sea from my room, looking straight up the beach toward Colombo - absolutely stunning. The balcony really did have a great view and was of a decent size, making my stay truly special. However, the service left something to be desired, with multiple requests for napkins and forks feeling like a hassle. The location on the Paradise beach of Mount Lavinia was stunning, right by the sea, but there were some slight issues with the service.
